Divorce Myths & Untruths

Divorce Myths & Untruths

This week, I gave a presentation, as I often do, to people considering separation or divorce who have questions. I’m Katherine Miller, and I’ve been a divorce attorney in New York City and New York State for over 30 years. I’ve spoken to countless individuals in similar situations, and I’ve encountered many misconceptions spread by spouses.

For example, one woman shared that her husband threatened to quit his job, insisting she would have to pay him alimony. That’s simply not the case. Another woman was told by her spouse, “I took money from our joint account, and now it’s in my name—you can’t access it.” Again, that’s not true.

These misconceptions—and many others—are exactly why I started Divorce Dialogues. Ten years ago, I launched this radio show and podcast to address these myths and provide accurate, empowering information. I’ve interviewed hundreds of experts in the divorce field, and my own insights aim to dispel myths and help you make informed decisions during this challenging time.

I invite you to listen to Divorce Dialogues, available wherever you get your podcasts or on our website at divorcedialogues.com. Subscribe today—I believe you’ll find it invaluable. Thanks for listening.
